Use the App with Your Voice — Voice Feature Complete Guide
Ramlal, age 58, is a farmer from a small village in Madhya Pradesh. He has a smartphone, but he can't type in Hindi. The English keyboard makes no sense to him at all. When any app tells him "Search here" — he gets stuck.

You're not just learning voice for yourself — you're learning it to teach others. In your village, there will be 10, 20, 50 people who can't type. You will teach all of them the voice feature.

Voice feature requires an Internet connection. Voice won't work without internet because speech-to-text processing happens on the cloud. Let the user know this beforehand.
Open the KaryoSetu app. On the Home screen, you'll see the Search bar at the top. On the right side of the Search bar, there's a 🎙️ mic icon. This is your magic button.
Tap the Mic button (press and release) — recording will start. Say what you need. When you're done speaking, tap again or stay silent for 2 seconds — the app will automatically understand that you've finished speaking.

Make two groups. One group searches by typing, the other by voice. Both have to find the same thing — "गाँव में बिजली मिस्त्री" (electrician in the village). See who gets to the results first. (Spoiler: The voice group will win! 😄)
Sometimes voice search doesn't show the expected results. In such cases:
Speaking too fast or too slowly — both are problems. Speak at a normal speed, as if you're having a regular conversation.
Earlier, creating a listing required typing — type the title, type the description, type the price. This was very difficult for rural users.
Now? Just speak. The app will understand everything.

Tell the user — "You can mix Hindi and English while speaking, no problem!" The app understands both languages. "Tractor किराये पे देना है" (I want to rent out a tractor) — this works perfectly. "Plumber chahiye" (need a plumber) — this works too.
The Whisper API is multilingual — it understands Hindi, Marathi, English and many more languages. But keep a few things in mind:
Saathi: "देखिये, अभी app Hindi में है। अगर आपको Marathi में चाहिए तो — यहाँ Profile दबाइये... अब Settings... देखा? भाषा लिखा है... Marathi select कीजिये... बस! अब सब Marathi में दिखेगा। और voice में भी Marathi में बोल सकते हो!"

Switch the app's language from Hindi to Marathi (or English). Then do a voice search in the new language. What results came up? Then switch back to Hindi. Do a total of 3 language switches and try a voice search each time.

Make pairs. One person becomes the "Saathi," the other becomes the "User." The user plays 3 roles:

You can say the price filter by voice itself — "500 रुपये के अंदर" (under 500 rupees) or "सबसे सस्ता" (cheapest) or "best quality" — the AI will understand!
When a buyer messages you about your listing, you can reply by voice too:
