Why Voice Matters · How Voice Search Works

Chapter 1

Why Learn This? — Why Voice Matters

1.1 A True Story

Ramlal, age 58, is a farmer from a small village in Madhya Pradesh. He has a smartphone, but he can't type in Hindi. The English keyboard makes no sense to him at all. When any app tells him "Search here" — he gets stuck.

Then one day, his son showed him KaryoSetu. He said — "Baapu, just press the mic button and say what you need." Ramlal spoke — "ट्रैक्टर किराये पे चाहिए" (I need a tractor on rent). In 2 seconds, 5 listings appeared. His eyes lit up.

This is the magic of voice. Even those who can't type can still speak.

🔢 The Reality — Numbers That Tell the Whole Story
  • In rural India, 70% of people cannot type Hindi on their phones
  • 45% of people are fully illiterate or have very little education
  • But 95% of people can speak fluently in their own language
  • Voice input is 3x faster than typing — especially for rural users
  • Voice-enabled apps see 4x more usage compared to non-voice apps

1.2 Voice — Removes the Biggest Barrier

Think about it — what is the biggest problem with using apps in rural India?

  1. Typing — Hindi keyboards are complex, English doesn't make sense
  2. Navigation — "Where is Settings? Where is the Search bar?" — it's confusing
  3. Fear — "What if I press the wrong button? Will my money get deducted?"

Voice solves all three of these problems. The user just has to do one thing — speak. Everyone knows how to speak. From children to the elderly, from the educated to the uneducated.

💡 Remember This

In KaryoSetu, voice is not just "a feature" — it is THE feature. This is what sets us apart from other apps. This is the bridge that closes the digital divide.

1.3 How Voice Works — A Simple Explanation

In KaryoSetu, voice works in 3 steps:

StepWhat HappensTechnology
1️⃣User speaks → Phone records the audioPhone's Microphone
2️⃣Voice is converted to textWhisper API (Speech-to-Text)
3️⃣Text is understood — "What does the user want?"GPT-4o-mini (AI Understanding)
4️⃣Results are displayed / Action is takenKaryoSetu Search Engine
5️⃣App speaks back the answer (optional)Bhashini (Text-to-Speech)

Users don't need to know these details. But Setu Saathi must understand this — so they can troubleshoot issues.

1.4 Success Stories — When Voice Changed Lives

📖 Story 1: Kamala Devi, Rajasthan

Kamala Devi never went to school. She is 62 years old. She wanted to sell her homemade chutney and pickles. She couldn't create a listing on any app before. On KaryoSetu, she simply said — "मेरी हाथ की बनी आम की चटनी है, एक बोतल पचास रुपये, घर से ले जाओ।" (I have homemade mango chutney, one bottle for fifty rupees, pick it up from my home.) The listing was created. In 3 days, she got 4 orders.

📖 Story 2: Santosh Yadav, Uttar Pradesh

Santosh is a plumber. Earlier, he only got work in his own lane. On KaryoSetu, he created a voice listing — "प्लम्बर हूँ, नल की मरम्मत, टंकी लगवाना, सब करता हूँ, आसपास कहीं भी आ जाऊँगा।" (I'm a plumber, I do tap repairs, tank installation, everything — I'll come anywhere nearby.) Now he gets calls from 3 villages.

📖 Story 3: Preeti Sharma, Maharashtra

Preeti has studied up to class 10. She speaks Marathi and finds Hindi typing difficult. She uses Marathi voice support on KaryoSetu — "माझ्याकडे ताजे टोमॅटो आहेत, दोन किलोचे पॅक, शेतातून थेट।" (I have fresh tomatoes, two-kilo packs, straight from the farm.) The app understood Marathi and created the listing.

🎯 Activity: "My First Voice Experience"

Pick up your phone. Open the KaryoSetu app. Press the Mic button. (What can I sell?) See what Samjho replies. Share your experience with the group.

1.5 Why Voice Is Extra Important for Setu Saathi

You're not just learning voice for yourself — you're learning it to teach others. In your village, there will be 10, 20, 50 people who can't type. You will teach all of them the voice feature.

After learning voice, the user can operate the app on their own — without your help. That is your true success.

⚠️ Important Note

Voice feature requires an Internet connection. Voice won't work without internet because speech-to-text processing happens on the cloud. Let the user know this beforehand.

📝 Quiz — Chapter 1
  1. What percentage of people in rural India cannot type Hindi?
    Answer: Approximately 70%
  2. How many steps does a voice command go through in KaryoSetu?
    Answer: 5 steps — Record → Speech-to-Text → AI Understanding → Action → Voice Response
  3. What is required for the voice feature to work?
Answer: Internet connection and Microphone permission
  4. "Even those who can't type can still ______."
    Answer: speak
📚 Homework
  1. Ask 5 people in your village — "Can you type Hindi on your phone?" Write down their answers.
  2. Show the KaryoSetu mic button to at least 2 of those 5 people and have them do a voice search.
  3. Note their reaction — What did they say? How did they feel?
Chapter 2

Voice Search — Speak and Find

2.1 Where Is the Mic Button?

Open the KaryoSetu app. On the Home screen, you'll see the Search bar at the top. On the right side of the Search bar, there's a 🎙️ mic icon. This is your magic button.

💡 Shortcut

Tap the Mic button (press and release) — recording will start. Say what you need. When you're done speaking, tap again or stay silent for 2 seconds — the app will automatically understand that you've finished speaking.

2.2 How to Speak — Natural Language

The best part — you don't need to say any special command. Just speak naturally, as if you're talking to a friend:

The app understands what you're saying — no matter how you say it.

2.3 Voice Search Examples — By Category

2.4 How Voice Search Is Processed

When you press the mic and speak, here's what happens:

  1. Recording — The phone records your voice
  2. Upload — The audio file is sent to the server (Internet required)
  3. Whisper API — Your voice is converted to text (Hindi, Marathi, English — all supported)
  4. GPT-4o-mini — AI understands what the user wants, in which category, and where
  5. Search — Matching listings are found
  6. Results — Results appear on screen
💡 Speed

The entire process takes 2-4 seconds (on good internet). On slow internet, it may take 5-8 seconds. Tell the user — "Just wait a moment, the results are coming."

2.5 Voice Search vs. Text Search

FeatureText SearchVoice Search
SpeedTyping takes timeSpeak it in 2-3 seconds
LiteracyReading and writing requiredJust need to know how to speak
AccuracySpelling mistakes can happenNatural language — no spelling needed
DetailShort keywordsYou can speak full sentences
Hands-freeBoth hands neededCan be done with one hand
🎯 Activity: "Voice Search Race"

Make two groups. One group searches by typing, the other by voice. Both have to find the same thing — "गाँव में बिजली मिस्त्री" (electrician in the village). See who gets to the results first. (Spoiler: The voice group will win! 😄)

2.6 When Voice Search Doesn't Give the Right Result

Sometimes voice search doesn't show the expected results. In such cases:

⚠️ Common Mistake

Speaking too fast or too slowly — both are problems. Speak at a normal speed, as if you're having a regular conversation.

📝 Quiz — Chapter 2
  1. Where is the Mic button located in the KaryoSetu app?
Answer: On the right side of the Search bar on the Home screen
  2. Does voice search need a special command or natural language?
Answer: Natural language — just speak as if you're talking to a friend
  3. How is the audio converted to text in voice search?
Answer: Through Whisper API Speech-to-Text technology
  4. What should you do if voice search doesn't give the right result?
Answer: Say it differently, add a location, or use a simpler sentence
📚 Homework
  1. Do at least 2 voice searches in every category (10+ total)
  2. Note down the ones that fail — what did you say and what result came up
  3. Find 3 unusual voice searches — like "शादी के लिए ढोल वाला" (dhol player for a wedding), "बकरी का दूध" (goat's milk) — and see how the app handles them

Part 2 — Seekho (Learn)

Voice Listing · Language Switching · Samjho AI Assistant

Chapter 3

Voice Listing Creation — Create Listings by Speaking

3.1 Creating a Listing — Old Way vs. New Way

Earlier, creating a listing required typing — type the title, type the description, type the price. This was very difficult for rural users.

Now? Just speak. The app will understand everything.

🗣️ Example: A Farmer's Voice Listing

User says: "यह मेरे खेत का organic टमाटर है, 2 किलो का पैक, आज सुबह तोड़ा हुआ, pickup मेरे farm से कर सकते हो।" (This is organic tomato from my farm, 2 kg pack, picked fresh this morning, you can pick it up from my farm.)

App understands:

  • Category: Agriculture / Vegetables
  • Product: Organic Tomato
  • Quantity: 2 kg pack
  • Freshness: Today morning
  • Delivery: Pickup from farm

The app automatically creates a great listing — title, description, category — everything gets filled in!

3.2 Voice Listing — Step by Step

  1. Press the ➕ button (New Listing)
  2. The "Add Listing" screen will open — you'll see a 🎙️ mic icon near the description field
  3. Press the Mic icon
  4. Speak — tell everything about your item: what it is, how much, where to get it, what's the price
  5. The app will automatically fill in the fields
  6. Review — check once to make sure everything is correct
  7. Press Post — Listing is live!

3.3 How to Speak a Good Voice Listing

🎯 4 Golden Rules

#RuleExample
1What is it — say the product/service name"यह देसी घी है" (This is desi ghee)
2How much — say the quantity and price"आधा किलो, 400 रुपये" (Half kilo, 400 rupees)
3Where is it — say the location"नासिक, महाराष्ट्र" (Nashik, Maharashtra)
4What's special — say the USP"गाय के दूध से बना, एकदम शुद्ध" (Made from cow's milk, absolutely pure)
🎤 Perfect Voice Listing Script

"मैं देसी घी बेच रहा हूँ। गाय के शुद्ध दूध से बना है। आधा किलो का डिब्बा 400 रुपये का है। एकदम ताज़ा, हफ़्ते भर पुराना। नासिक से हूँ, घर आकर ले सकते हो या मैं deliver कर दूँगा 5 किलोमीटर तक।"

(I'm selling desi ghee. Made from pure cow's milk. Half kilo jar costs 400 rupees. Absolutely fresh, just a week old. I'm from Nashik — you can come pick it up from my home or I'll deliver within 5 kilometers.)

3.4 Things to Keep in Mind While Speaking

💡 Voice Tips for Clear Recording
  • Quiet place — Avoid background noise. If you're in a market, step into a corner
  • Phone 6 inches away — Hold the phone about 6 inches (one hand span) from your mouth
  • Speak slowly — A little slower than normal speed. Pronounce each word clearly
  • One sentence at a time — Say one sentence, then pause briefly
  • Don't hold phone to your ear — Keep the phone in front of you, not against your ear

3.5 Voice Listings for Different Categories

🎤 Service Listing

"मैं प्लम्बर हूँ। नल की मरम्मत, टंकी फिटिंग, वॉशबेसिन लगाना — सब करता हूँ। 10 साल का experience है। रोज़ सुबह 8 बजे से शाम 6 बजे तक available हूँ। सतारा ज़िले में कहीं भी आ जाऊँगा। Charges 300 रुपये per visit से शुरू।"

(I'm a plumber. Tap repair, tank fitting, washbasin installation — I do it all. 10 years of experience. Available daily from 8 AM to 6 PM. I'll come anywhere in Satara district. Charges start at 300 rupees per visit.)

🎤 Education Listing

"मैं tuition पढ़ाता हूँ, class 8 से 10 तक, maths और science। घर पर आकर पढ़ाता हूँ। 10 साल से पढ़ा रहा हूँ, कई बच्चे merit में आ चुके हैं। Monthly fees 500 रुपये। पुणे — कोथरूड area।"

(I teach tuition, classes 8 to 10, maths and science. I come to your home to teach. Been teaching for 10 years, many students have made it to the merit list. Monthly fees 500 rupees. Pune — Kothrud area.)

🎤 Vehicle Listing

"ट्रैक्टर किराये पर देता हूँ। Mahindra 575, 2020 model, अच्छी condition में है। रोज़ाना 1500 रुपये, driver साथ आएगा। खेत जोतने, माल ढोने — सब काम करता है। जालना ज़िले में available।"

(I rent out a tractor. Mahindra 575, 2020 model, in good condition. 1500 rupees per day, driver comes along. Ploughing fields, hauling goods — it does everything. Available in Jalna district.)

⚠️ Mistakes to Avoid
  • Not saying the price — you'll have to type it manually later
  • Speaking too fast — the app will miss half of what you said
  • TV / radio playing in the background — voice recognition will get confused
  • Covering the phone while speaking — the mic gets blocked
🎯 Activity: "Create 3 Listings"

Practice! Create voice listings in 3 different categories:

  1. A product (food item, clothing, anything)
  2. A service (plumbing, teaching, driving, etc.)
  3. A rental (room, vehicle, equipment)

After creating them, review — did the app understand everything correctly? If anything is wrong, fix it.

📝 Quiz — Chapter 3
  1. How far should you hold the phone while creating a voice listing?
Answer: About 6 inches (one hand span) from your mouth
  2. What are the 4 golden rules for a good voice listing?
Answer: What is it, How much (quantity + price), Where is it, What's special about it
  3. What should you do if there's background noise?
Answer: Go to a quiet place — a corner or a room
📚 Homework
  1. Pick 3 things from your home that you could sell (anything — old stuff, food, a service)
  2. Create a voice listing on KaryoSetu for each one
  3. Take a screenshot after the listing is created and share it in the group
Chapter 4

Language Switching — Change Your Language

4.1 Which Languages Does KaryoSetu Support?

LanguageStatusVoice Support
Hindi✅ Full Support✅ Voice Search + Listing + Samjho
Marathi✅ Full Support✅ Voice Search + Listing + Samjho
English✅ Full Support✅ Voice Search + Listing + Samjho
Tamil🔜 Coming Soon🔜 Coming in Phase 2
Telugu🔜 Coming Soon🔜 Coming in Phase 2
Kannada🔜 Coming Soon🔜 Coming in Phase 2

4.2 How to Change the Language — Step by Step

  1. Open the app → Tap the Profile icon (bottom right corner)
  2. Tap on "Settings"
  3. You'll see the "भाषा / Language" option — tap on it
  4. Select the language you want
  5. The app will restart in the new language
💡 Language Mixing — Hindi + English Mix

Tell the user — "You can mix Hindi and English while speaking, no problem!" The app understands both languages. "Tractor किराये पे देना है" (I want to rent out a tractor) — this works perfectly. "Plumber chahiye" (need a plumber) — this works too.

4.3 Regional Language Support — What Works

The Whisper API is multilingual — it understands Hindi, Marathi, English and many more languages. But keep a few things in mind:

✅ These Work with Voice
  • Pure Hindi: "मुझे आटा चाहिए" (I need flour) ✅
  • Pure English: "I need a plumber" ✅
  • Hindi-English mix: "Plumber chahiye near me" (Need a plumber near me) ✅
  • Pure Marathi: "मला प्लम्बर हवा आहे" (I need a plumber) ✅
  • Hindi with common English words: "Tractor rent pe" (Tractor on rent) ✅
⚠️ These Don't Work Fully Yet
  • Very heavy dialects — like "हमनी के चाहीं" (Bhojpuri style) — accuracy may be lower
  • Very strong regional accents — the app may get confused
  • Mixing 3 languages in a single sentence — "Mala ek plumber hawa, जल्दी भेजो" (Send me a plumber quickly) — can be tricky

4.4 Teaching Users the Language Setting

🎤 Demo Script

(Saathi: "See, right now the app is in Hindi. If you want it in Marathi — tap Profile here... now Settings... see? It says Language... select Marathi... that's it! Now everything will appear in Marathi. And you can also speak in Marathi for voice!")

🎯 Activity: "Language Switch Challenge"

Switch the app's language from Hindi to Marathi (or English). Then do a voice search in the new language. What results came up? Then switch back to Hindi. Do a total of 3 language switches and try a voice search each time.

📝 Quiz — Chapter 4
  1. Where do you find the Language setting?
Answer: Profile → Settings → Language
  2. Can you do a voice search by mixing Hindi and English?
Answer: Yes! Mixed queries like "Plumber chahiye" work perfectly
  3. Which languages are currently fully supported?
    Answer: Hindi, Marathi, and English
Chapter 5

(Samjho: "Sure! Your listing says 'Want to sell ghee'. Let me improve it: 'Pure desi cow ghee — hand-churned, fresh, half kilo pack. Made from pure village milk. Straight from our dairy farm.' Is this okay?")

User: "हाँ, बढ़िया!" (User: "Yes, great!")

Samjho: "Done! Listing update हो गई। एक और tip — अगर photo भी add करोगे तो 3x ज़्यादा views आएँगे।"

(Samjho: "Done! The listing has been updated. One more tip — if you add a photo too, you'll get 3x more views.")

💬 Conversation 4: Finding Buyers

(User: "Samjho, I have a tractor to rent out. How do I find buyers?")

(Samjho: "Very easy! Open the listing → Tap the Edit button → Tap 'Add Photos' → Take a photo with Camera or choose from Gallery → Done! Tip — take the photo in natural light, keep the background clean, and show the product in close-up.")

💬 Conversation 6: Market Insight

(User: "Samjho, what things sell the most in our area?")

(Samjho: "In your area — Jalna, Maharashtra — the highest demand is in these categories: (1) Agricultural produce — milk, ghee, vegetables (2) Services — electrician, plumber, tractor rental (3) Education — tuition classes 5-10. I'd suggest — if you have a skill, create a service listing. Demand for services stays year-round.")

⚠️ Samjho's Limitations
  • Samjho cannot process payments — it can only guide you

Part 3 — Sikhao (Teach)

Teaching Users Voice · Troubleshooting

Chapter 6

Teaching Users Voice Features

6.1 The Best Way to Teach — "Show by Doing"

Rural users understand a demo much better than theory. Instead of saying "This is how it works" — say "Watch, I'll show you how."

Teaching Formula: 3-Step Method

  1. Show — You do it yourself, the user watches
  2. Do together — The user does it, you guide them
  3. Let them do it alone — The user does it independently, you just observe

6.2 Complete Demo Script — Teaching Voice Search

🎤 Step 1: Introduction (30 seconds)

(Saathi: "Brother/Sister, let me show you something very easy. You won't need to type anything on your phone. You just have to speak. Let's see...")

🎤 Step 2: Demo (1 minute)

(Saathi: "Look, this is the KaryoSetu app. See this mic button at the top? I'm pressing it...")

[Press the mic]

(Saathi: "Now I say — 'I need a plumber nearby'")

[Let results appear]

(Saathi: "See? That's all you had to do! You spoke and results appeared. No typing, no searching for buttons.")

🎤 Step 3: User tries (2 minutes)

(Saathi: "Now you try. Tell me, what do you need — anything at all?")

(User: "I need cheap flour")

(Saathi: "Great! Now press the mic button here... yes, that one... now say — 'I need cheap flour'")

[User speaks, results appear]

(Saathi: "Wonderful! See how easy it is! Now try it on your own — search for something else.")

6.3 Different Users — Different Approaches

👨‍🌾 Scenario 1: Elderly Farmer (Age 60+)

🎤 Teaching Script

(Saathi: "Uncle, you have your phone, right? You just need to do one thing. See this round red button? Press it... yes, just like that... now say it clearly — 'I need a tractor'...")

[Let results appear]

(Saathi: "See, uncle? You spoke and the phone found it! The phone listens to you too!")

💡 When Teaching the Elderly
  • Speak very slowly, don't rush
  • Show the screen in large font (if possible)
  • Keep saying "It's easy" — give them confidence
  • Repeat the same step 2-3 times
  • Never show irritation — be patient

🏪 Scenario 2: Shopkeeper (Age 30-50)

🎤 Teaching Script

(Saathi: "Brother, what do you sell in your shop? Groceries? Good — now look, on KaryoSetu people search online for 'where to find cheap flour'. If you create a listing, those people will come to your shop.")

(Saathi: "To create a listing, just say — 'I have a grocery shop, flour, sugar, oil — everything is available, prices are lower than the market.' Just say that much — and the listing will be created!")

👩 Scenario 3: Woman Who Can't Read

🎤 Teaching Script

(Saathi: "Sister, you don't need to read or write anything on the phone. There's just one button — here — press it and speak. Talk to the phone just like you're talking to me.")

(Saathi: "Say — 'I do tailoring work, I stitch blouses and suits, starting from 200 rupees.' Just say that much — the listing will be created and people will be able to find you!")

💡 When Teaching Women
  • If you're a male Saathi, maintain respectful distance; if possible, bring a female Saathi along
  • Show the screen from a distance — no need to touch the phone
  • "You can do this yourself" — build their confidence
  • Explain privacy — "Your voice is only used for search, it's not saved anywhere"

6.4 Common Reactions and How to Handle Them

User SaysYou Say
"मुझसे नहीं होगा" (I can't do it)"Just try it once. I'm here — I'll help you."
"Phone ख़राब हो जाएगा" (The phone will break)"No, nothing will happen. You just press the mic button and speak."
"Paisa तो नहीं कटेगा?" (Will money be deducted?)"Absolutely not! Searching is free. No money is deducted."
"मेरी भाषा समझेगा?" (Will it understand my language?)"Yes! It understands Hindi, Marathi, English — everything. Just speak the way you normally do."
"Internet नहीं है" (No internet)"Voice needs internet. Try it when you have WiFi or your data is on."
🎯 Activity: "Role Play Teaching"

Make pairs. One person becomes the "Saathi," the other becomes the "User." The user plays 3 roles:

  1. An elderly farmer who is scared of phones
  2. A shopkeeper who says "time waste"
  3. A woman who says "I can't do it"

Each scenario is 3 minutes. The Saathi must explain and get them to do a voice search. Then swap roles.

📚 Homework
  1. This week, teach 3 new users voice search
  2. Note each user's reaction — happiness? surprise? fear? confusion?
  3. Teach at least 1 user to create a voice listing too
  4. If any user refuses, note why they refused
Chapter 7

Troubleshooting — Voice Not Working?

7.1 Most Common Problems and Solutions

❌ Problem 1: "I'm pressing the Mic button but nothing is happening"

🔧 Solution
  • Check 1: Microphone permission — Settings → Apps → KaryoSetu → Permissions → Microphone → Allow
  • Check 2: Restart the phone — sometimes the mic hangs
  • Check 3: Another app might be using the mic (on a call, voice recorder running) — close that app

❌ Problem 2: "I'm speaking but the app is hearing it wrong"

🔧 Solution
  • Background noise — Go to a quiet place. Turn off the TV, radio, children's noise
  • Speaking too fast — Speak slowly, pronounce each word clearly
  • Phone too far away — Keep 6 inches distance, not too close and not too far
  • Mic is covered — Check if the phone case or your finger is covering the mic hole

❌ Problem 3: "After speaking, it's loading for too long"

🔧 Solution
  • Slow internet — Check WiFi or 4G signal. Voice will be slow on 2G
  • Network switch — Turn off WiFi and try mobile data, or vice versa
  • App restart — Close the app, then open it again
  • If loading takes more than 10 seconds, cancel and try again

❌ Problem 4: "Voice search results are wrong"

🔧 Solution
  • Use different words — instead of "plumber," say "नल ठीक करने वाला" (someone who fixes taps)
  • Add a location — "प्लम्बर नासिक में" (plumber in Nashik)
  • Use a shorter sentence — condense what you're saying
  • If speaking in Hindi, try pure Hindi, or add some English words

❌ Problem 5: "The app says 'Microphone permission denied'"

🔧 Fix on Android
  1. Open your phone's Settings
  2. Go to Apps or Application Manager
  3. Find KaryoSetu
  4. Tap on Permissions
  5. Microphone — toggle it ON
  6. Close the app and reopen it

❌ Problem 6: "Samjho is not responding"

🔧 Solution
  • Check internet connection — Samjho needs internet
  • Ask your question again — in a clear and simple way
  • Check for app updates — download the latest version from Play Store
  • If the server is down, try again after a little while (very rare)

7.2 Quick Troubleshooting Checklist

⚠️ When Nothing Works

If you've tried everything and voice still isn't working — contact the Support team. In the app: Settings → Help → Contact Support. Or send a message on the WhatsApp helpline.

🎯 Activity: "Troubleshooting Practice"

Find a partner. Your partner will deliberately create (or act out) these problems:

  1. Turn off Mic permission — then fix it
  2. Do a voice search with the TV on — see how quality is affected
  3. Do a search speaking very fast — then speak slowly and see the difference
📝 Quiz — Chapter 7

Answer: Internet connection (WiFi or Mobile Data)
  2. Where do you turn on Mic permission?
Answer: Phone Settings → Apps → KaryoSetu → Permissions → Microphone → ON
  3. How far from the phone should you speak?
Answer: About 6 inches (one hand span)
  4. What's the first thing to do if there's background noise?
Answer: Go to a quiet place

Part 4 — Master It

Advanced Voice Tips · 50 Example Commands

Chapter 8

Advanced Voice Tips — Become a Power User

8.1 Follow-up Questions — Keep the Conversation Going

Voice search doesn't end in one go. You can ask follow-up questions:

🗣️ Example: Follow-up Search
  • First search: "प्लम्बर चाहिए नासिक में" (I need a plumber in Nashik)
  • Results appear: 5 plumbers shown
(Which one is the cheapest?)
(Who is available tomorrow?)

8.2 Voice + Filters — Combine Them

After a voice search, you can use filters to narrow down the results:

  1. Do a voice search — "ट्रैक्टर किराये पर" (tractor on rent)
  2. After results appear, press the Filter icon
  3. Set a price range, location filter, rating filter
  4. Or just say it by voice — "1000 रुपये से कम में ट्रैक्टर" (tractor for under 1000 rupees)
💡 Pro Tip

You can say the price filter by voice itself — "500 रुपये के अंदर" (under 500 rupees) or "सबसे सस्ता" (cheapest) or "best quality" — the AI will understand!

8.3 Voice Transaction Messages

When a buyer messages you about your listing, you can reply by voice too:

💬 Example Conversation via Voice

Buyer message: "Bhai, ghee abhi available hai?" (Brother, is the ghee available right now?)

You press the mic and say: "Haan bhai, abhi available hai. Aadha kilo 400 rupaye. Kal tak pickup kar sakte ho. Farm pe aa jaana subah 9 baje ke baad."

(Yes brother, it's available right now. Half kilo for 400 rupees. You can pick it up by tomorrow. Come to the farm after 9 AM.)

8.4 Voice Descriptions That Sell Better

Typed listing vs. voice listing — see the difference:

Typed ListingVoice Listing
"Ghee for sale. 500gm. Rs 400.""यह मेरी गाय का शुद्ध देसी घी है, बिलकुल ताज़ा बना है कल ही, आधा किलो का डिब्बा 400 रुपये का है, बहुत सुगंधित है, एक बार खाओगे तो बार-बार माँगोगे!" (This is pure desi ghee from my cow, freshly made just yesterday, half kilo jar for 400 rupees, very aromatic — once you taste it, you'll keep coming back for more!)

See? The voice listing has enthusiasm, detail, and authenticity. When you speak, your passion comes through naturally. That feeling doesn't come through in typing.

💡 "Your Voice Sells Better Than Typing"

AI processes voice listings and creates a professional-looking description — but your original feelings and details are preserved. That's why voice listings are more engaging and sell better.

8.5 5 Power Tricks for Voice Descriptions

  1. Tell a story — "यह टमाटर आज सुबह मेरे खेत से तोड़ा" (This tomato was picked from my farm this morning) — it makes people feel the freshness
  2. Use sensory words — "सुगंधित घी" (aromatic ghee), "रसीले आम" (juicy mangoes), "ताज़ी हरी मिर्च" (fresh green chillies)
  3. Make comparisons — "बाज़ार से 30% सस्ता" (30% cheaper than the market) — show the value
  4. Build trust — "10 साल से बना रहा हूँ" (Been making this for 10 years), "200 customers satisfied हैं" (200 satisfied customers)
  5. Give a call to action — "अभी order करो, कल deliver" (Order now, delivered tomorrow), "WhatsApp पर call करो" (Call on WhatsApp)

8.6 Daily Voice Practice Routine

Practice voice for 5 minutes every day:

🎯 Daily Practice: "5 in 5"

Every day, do 5 voice activities in 5 minutes:

  1. 1 voice search — find something
  2. 1 Samjho question — ask something
  3. 1 voice listing practice — describe something
  4. 1 voice reply practice — reply to a message by voice
  5. 1 language switch — search in a different language

That's 7 × 5 = 35 voice interactions per week. In one month, you'll be an expert!

8.7 Voice + Photos = The Perfect Listing

The most powerful listing is one that has both a voice description and good photos:

  1. First, take 2-3 photos (natural light, clean background, close-up)
  2. Then speak the description using voice — describing while looking at the photos makes it even better
  3. "इस photo में देख सकते हो कितना ताज़ा टमाटर है, बिलकुल लाल, एकदम firm..." (You can see in this photo how fresh the tomato is — perfectly red, very firm...)
⚠️ Advanced Tip: What NOT to Do
  • Don't give a 5-minute voice recording for a single listing — 30-60 seconds is enough
  • Don't say false things — AI can detect inconsistencies
  • Don't use someone else's product photo and claim it as your own
📝 Quiz — Chapter 8
  1. Why does a voice listing sell better than a typed one?
Answer: Voice naturally brings enthusiasm, detail, and authenticity — which typing doesn't convey
  2. What are the 5 power tricks for voice descriptions?
Answer: Tell a story, Use sensory words, Make comparisons, Build trust, Give a call to action
  3. How many activities should you do in daily voice practice?
Answer: 5 activities in 5 minutes — search, Samjho question, listing, reply, language switch

💡 Module 4 — Final Message

Voice is a power that every person has. Whether educated or not, whether they can type or not — everyone knows how to speak. You are a Setu Saathi — your job is to bring this power to every user. When an illiterate farmer creates a listing by voice, when an elderly mother finds products by voice — that's when you know you've truly made a difference.

Speak, Teach, Transform. 🎙️
